Plain talk about what we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

Carolina Turf & Lawn is a locally owned, fully insured outdoor services company serving Nash, Wilson, Edgecombe, Franklin, and Halifax counties in North Carolina. This policy explains how we handle information collected through this website, including our free estimate form.
It applies to this website only. It does not change any separate agreement we sign with you for actual work on your property.
When you fill out our free estimate form, you choose what to send us. The form asks for:
If you call us at 252-955-8000 or email jlkluge [at] yahoo [dot] com instead, we keep whatever you share in that conversation so we can help you.
Like most websites, ours records some technical data when you visit. This is collected through standard server logs and through analytics. It includes:
We use this to understand traffic patterns, not to identify you personally.
We use what you send us to run our business and answer you. Specifically, we use it to:
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We are a lawn and land company, not a data company. Your phone number and email are for talking to you about your property, and nothing else.
We share information only with the service providers that help us operate this website and communicate with you. Right now that is a short list:
These providers may only use the information to perform their service for us. We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, for example in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or law enforcement request, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
When you submit the estimate form, two emails go out automatically: a confirmation to the address you entered, letting you know we received your request, and a notification to our business inbox so we can get back to you.
These are transactional emails. They are triggered by something you did, and they are not marketing. We do not add you to a newsletter or a promotional list from the estimate form. If we ever start sending marketing email, it will be something you opt into, and every message will have an unsubscribe link.
This site uses a small number of cookies and similar browser storage technologies, mainly to remember your privacy choice and to measure site usage. You can turn analytics off at any time using the Cookie Settings button in the footer of every page.
For the full detail, including exactly what is stored, how long it lasts, and how our consent model works, see our Cookie Policy.
We keep estimate requests and customer records for as long as we need them for the business relationship and for reasonable record keeping, including tax, insurance, warranty, and dispute purposes. If a request never turns into a job, we typically keep it only as long as it is useful to follow up.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See Your Choices and Rights below.
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold, including limiting who on our team can see customer records and using reputable providers for email and hosting.
Being honest with you: no method of transmitting data over the internet, and no method of electronic storage, is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send us sensitive information such as financial account numbers or a Social Security number through the website form.
You can contact us at any time to:
Call 252-955-8000 or email jlkluge [at] yahoo [dot] com. We may need to confirm who you are before we act on a request, and we may need to keep certain records where the law requires it.
We extend the choices above to every customer and visitor, regardless of which state you live in. North Carolina does not currently have a comprehensive consumer privacy statute, so these rights are offered as a matter of our own practice. We will also comply with North Carolina's requirements for notifying you if a security breach affects your personal information.
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information a business has collected about you, the right to request that it be deleted, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front. To exercise your right to know or your right to delete, contact us using the details above. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.
This website is meant for property owners and adults hiring outdoor services. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Our site, including articles on our blog, may link to other websites we do not control. We link to them because we think the information is useful, not because we vouch for their privacy practices. Once you leave our site, this policy no longer applies. Read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
We may update this policy as our business or our tools change. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Meaningful changes will be reflected here, so it is worth a look if you have not visited in a while. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the current policy.
If anything here is unclear, or you want to know what we have on file for you, just ask. A real person will get back to you.
